Project “Climate Saver – Life Saver”
As we approach 2025, many companies, including those in the healthcare sector, are gearing up to prepare their first sustainability reports under the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive).
In 2017, the Viamedica Foundation launched the “Climate Saver – Life Saver” project to champion environmental protection efforts. Since its inception, the project has aimed to document CO2 emissions in various industries, offering active support to companies and institutions in preparing sustainability reports and certifications. We are proud to be an official sponsor partner, supporting this visionary initiative.
The project’s user-friendly tool is adaptable for all participants, allowing companies to visualize their contributions to environmental and climate protection through a playful ranking system. It also quantifies the amount of CO2 emissions avoided through their involvement. By participating in “Climate Saver – Life Saver,” companies and employees not only benefit the environment but also enjoy cost savings.
The project’s success is evident with over 150 participating companies, including pharmaceutical firms and university hospitals, engaging with the Climate Saver tool. To date, the project has helped avoid an impressive 2.5 million kilograms of CO2 emissions. With our support, we aim to significantly elevate this impact in the future.
Initially funded solely by the BMWK (National Climate Protection Agency of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection), the “Climate Saver – Life Saver” project will welcome external partners for the first time starting in 2024.
